Teatro Lirico Sperimentale
The Experimental Lyrical Theatre (Teatro Lirico Sperimentale) of Spoleto was founded in 1947 by Adriano Belli, lawyer and musicologist, with the aim of helping young people start a career in Opera art, once they had already completed singing studies and were gifted with artistic qualities, but had not yet made their debut. Winners of the singing Competition at the “Sperimentale” in Spoleto attend a two year-course during which they’re trained in certain aspects not covered in school programs: not only preparation of opera, but also training in stage movements under the guidance of the directors and conductors who put on such operas during the Debut Opera Season.
